On March 23, intern students from the International Economics and Trade program at Yangtze University achieved a significant milestone at the Shashi District Integrated Foreign Trade Service Center. The cross-border e-commerce storefronts they independently managed successfully received their first orders, with a buyer from Malaysia purchasing four cups, marking an impactful and meaningful start to their immersive practical learning journey.

As a professional platform dedicated to supporting foreign trade talent development in Shashi District, the Shashi District Integrated Foreign Trade Service Center has long focused on empowering participants through hands-on cross-border e-commerce training. Leveraging its professional service capabilities, the Center builds a bridge between academia and industry, offering university students a real-world training environment. This collaboration with Yangtze University, which involved designing a tailored internship program for the Class of 2022 International Economics and Trade majors, continues the Center's core mission of fostering the growth of foreign trade professionals.
For this internship, the Center innovatively implemented an "one student, one store" hands-on model, which aligns with the core knowledge framework of the International Economics and Trade discipline. Each intern was independently assigned a cross-border e-commerce storefront and guided through the entire operational process, including product listing, pricing strategy, store management and maintenance, and customer communication. This approach facilitates the deep integration of classroom theory with practical cross-border e-commerce operations, allowing students to accumulate industry experience through real-world practice.

During the internship, students began with foundational store setup, proactively researched consumption trends in the Southeast Asian market, meticulously selected suitable products, optimized pricing structures, and refined product detail pages. Through this process, they gradually grasped the core logic of cross-border e-commerce operations. The cups that led to the first transaction aligned well with the demand for household items in Southeast Asian markets like Malaysia, fully demonstrating the students' keen ability to understand market needs.
When the order notification sounded on March 23, the student responsible for the operation could hardly contain their joy. This order not only represents significant recognition of the interns' achievements but also serves as a vivid testament to the effectiveness of the Shashi District Integrated Foreign Trade Service Center's "learning by doing" talent cultivation model. Through this internship, the International Economics and Trade students have moved beyond the confines of textbooks, gaining a tangible appreciation for the dynamic growth of the cross-border e-commerce industry. By honing their professional skills and enhancing their practical abilities, they have built a solid foundation for their future careers in the foreign trade sector.
Looking ahead, the Shashi District Integrated Foreign Trade Service Center will continue to deepen the mechanism for collaborative education between academia and industry. Focusing on core areas such as talent development, practical training, and career planning, the Center aims to establish more high-quality platforms for foreign trade practice. These efforts will help university students efficiently transform their professional knowledge into workplace capabilities, consistently supply high-caliber, practice-oriented professionals to the foreign trade industry in Shashi District, and contribute to the high-quality development of the regional foreign trade sector.
